CITYWAY AirTag holder review

If you don’t know us - We have been testing GPS devices for years now.

Everything from sim card GPS devices, to QR code tags to even AirTags. And now we are taking a look at CityWay, an AirTag holder that can go on your pet’s collar.

We have actually been testing it for over a year now - here are our results.

Why get a CityWay holder?

The why is often very important. And for this device, we can think of three clear reasons why you would want to get this.

Firstly, other devices, like Pebblebee or the Chipolo tracker often have a loop or some kind of thing built into their body to help connect them to things / your dog’s collar.

But the AirTag doesn’t. It’s just… a coin. So you definitely need to get something, if you want to keep it on your dog.

Secondly - the AirTag by itself is not super waterproof and dirt proof. It’s meant to go into wallets and suitcases - not on creatures that like to go into the forest and swimming. The CityWay holder adds a protective layer, which will keep the electronics working.

And thirdly, it’s much more cheaper to get holder, rather than getting a whole collar, which has an AirTag pocket built in.

Does it work or is it a scam?

After using it for a year - we can say that it works!

It’s easy to install - just put the AirTag in, put a plate behind your dog’s collar, like you want, and then screw it shut.

With the AirTag, as always, you need an iPhone or an iPad to set it up. You can’t use an Android device.

But other than that - even after a year, the AirTag works just fine and the CityWay holder has not come loose at all.

And most importantly of all - our dog is happily at home. 😊

What could we complain about?

The CityWay holder works as intended and it’s a pretty simple gadget, so it’s though to be super critical about it - but as professional reviewers, we believe that all things can be better. Here’s some things we can bring out.

Firstly, the color selection that you have is black…. and black. But when you have a dog, you often want your dog’s items to reflect your and your dog’s personality a little. And a black spot on a pink collar? Wee-woo-wee-woo, you hear that? That’s the fashion police coming, because it’s not giving super girly.

The second thing we can nitpick about is that it’s not going to last forever. After a year of sun, rain, snow, etc - there are some microcracks on top of the plastic. Nothing has broken yet, but maybe something could be improved with the material? Not really an expert in that.

Is it worth it?

We would say, Yes, it’s worth it!

It’s easy to install, it hasn’t come loose or broken apart. The AirTag works and now is more protected than ever.

The only thing we wish, is that maybe CityWay can add some more colour variety into their product line. Otherwise, nothing really to complain about!
