Canine Intervention review

Our reaction to episode 1

Jas Leverette is a dog trainer in America, and in Canine Intervention, the only dog training show on Netflix, he goes around and tries to “help” people train their dogs.

Here is our review of the first episode.

Check out our reaction and check out the rest of the episodes over on Netflix.

Good things about the show

  1. They did some good training in the middle part of the show. They gave the dog structure, exercise and better reactions.

  2. Getting people interested in dog training is good.

Things we didn’t like

  1. Jas Leverette said that dog training is more human training than dog training, yet didn’t train the man almost at all.

  2. They painted the dog Lady Mcbeth as agressive, when in reality the dog was mostly just scared and therefore reactive.

  3. They didn’t explain much of anything. So it doesn’t really help people watching train or understand their dog better.

  4. The show focused more on the drama, than the actual dog training.

  5. Jas was painted as a “Superman”, while in reality, little was achieved.

Conclusion

In summary, Canine Intervention isn’t really a dog training show. It’s just a drama series that is a soft advertisement for Jas’s training centre Cali K9 training centre- at least based on the first episode.

We could be obviously wrong, but at least on the first episode, little was actually achieved and little was given to the viewer and even dog owner in terms of knowledge.

Would we recommend this show? Not really.
