Let’s get real here, dog owners always end up getting the same old gifts. Sometimes it’s a dog toy, another one of these typical mugs or a bag of dog treats - a little different, but not anything special or memorable.

That’s why we decided to try out some gifts for dog owners that might bring more joy, be a cute memory or be useful in your everyday life as a dog owner. We also turned it into a YouTube video on our Pocket Puppy School YT channel.

1. Dog Paw Print set

This one… as an idea sounded SO fun. Also visually we thought that it could look super cool - the golden and silver paw print on a black background. We also thought that it’s cool to try out, because we wouldn’t really have to mess around with anything else, no water, no other tools.

But sadly the reality was that the golden one didn’t basically leave any marks, which was so disappointing. We did get our hopes up high with this one. Luckily the silver one did work and we got a pretty decent silver ink paw print.

So when you do wanna try it out, then give it a go or try maybe a different brand one, but just be aware that maybe only part of the whole set will work.

We decided that even though it isn’t a really pricy gift, then for the amount we actually got to use, vs the amount that we didn’t, it might not be worth it.

2. Unique design dog hoodie

Now what dog parent gift it would be, if it weren’t something unique? This is a little extra gift idea we decided to include in this list, because it’s just that special in our opinion.

It’s a PPS Store personalised hoodie - so you could say that we’re biased, but for a reason. We can’t really put into words how soft and cozy it is, but we can put it on a photo, to show you different designs we have made already.

And you might ask us… well what really makes it different? We are actually making all of the designs ourselves. No AI, no automation. So if you order this hoodie, you can be 110% sure, it will a one of a kind hoodie. 💙

Why every dog owner deserves this hoodie:

• the print won’t wash away - we have washed our PPS hoodies a lot of times and the print still looks like new;

• hoodie itself is a very practical gift, but it’s also super personal because of the design

• a gift that lasts, it’s super special and might even bring a tear in the gift receiver’s eye;

• it’s something unique and who wouldn’t love a gift like that.

3. FurCobra

Now it might seem like not much, especially as a gift, but hear us out. FurCobra, even though small, actually surprised us. Such a simple tool, yet very effective.

Our dog doesn’t sleep on our couch and at least in our household, we don’t see us using it too much inside. BUT, since we’re driving around with our dog quite a lot, having the FurCobra in our car is awesome.

In our opinion it beats every car vacuum you could get. Of course, it may take a bit longer than trying to clean your car with a vacuum vs with the FurCobra, but not as much as you would think.

So if you, your family member or your fellow dog owner also drives around with their dog a lot or just has a super hairy dog, this is definitely an awesome little gift.

4. Dog clay kit

If you want to have a memory of your dog forever, then like with the PPS custom art hoodie, this paw print clay kit is great. It even came in this cute packaging that looked like a gift box, which was a nice touch.

The kit itself has everything you need, which is very convenient. You just need your dog to make the paw print and that’s literally it.

It definitely needs some hustling, like prepping the frame, rolling out the clay, making the paw print and then letting it dry, before you can call it done. And since we didn’t have a printed out photo, we needed to do that as well.

But after testing it and assembling it, we really liked the result and we actually decided to gift this to our parents and they LOVED it. 🥹

So if you want to do something with your dog, then this is such a fun activity and you can literally include your whole family.

Final thoughts

Something that these gift ideas have in common… well except the golden paw print set is - they don’t just end up forgotten in your drawer.
